"The Trouble with Teeth"

"I have experienced dental issues for a long while, however the addiction of mental health drugs has increased. The problem is I have a small mouth so my teeth are not set deep into my jaw and caps have repeatedly fallen out. Now with mental health medicine my teeth have softened and I attempted to remove one of my medications from my list, only to notice that my jaw clenching is happening and I'm back on the medication. Recently I was told I would need a root canal and an implant. I have been receiving care at Community Health and Dental and while the care has been excellent, they provide neither of these procedures, nor does my former dentist. The root canal, very expensive, and the extractions were going to be even more expensive. On my most recent visit my dentist, he examined my mouth and determined that the extraction made things more complicated, which I expected. My root canal took three 90 minute visits, very difficult sessions. So as of now I'm managing the best I can with my dentist and if you have this sort of problem going on for you, you are not alone!" -Jenny H.

"March Mental Health Motivation"

"From my experience with mental health, I have been through so many highs, lows and everywhere else you could go for the most part of my life. But that also means I've learned a lot from these experiences, as I hope a lot of us do in general. Because our brains and emotions need guidance, patience, love and a strong enough will to continue on. So don't feel too alone because there are millions of us who are going through something similar, it's important for us to realize it and to come together to overcome the stigma of mental health. Because it's real, there's no cure, it's not a joke, it's a process and it's important! Some people in the world will not understand that, but do know that there are so many more people that do. Do what you need to do in order to maintain your balance, because it always starts with you! Whether it's talking to your supports or therapy, learning about what medication is right for you and sticking to a good med routine, getting out of the house and socialize. Being out and about is a great way to distract yourself with positivity, good people and maybe you can be in a volunteer group or a work program that teaches you whatever you wish to learn in a lot of departments! Just make the first step, it can be little, it doesn't have to be huge just take the first step and go from there! Because you got this and you're a good person and you deserve to have a good life!" -Taylor T.

"Our adventure at West Chester Planetarium"

We went to the West Chester Planetarium, it was a lot of fun! We saw two shows, the first astronauts and the other was on Black Holes. The shows were awesome and made you feel like you were actually moving! The astronaut show explained all the training they go through and the dangers they face in space. The Black Hole show explained how they form and develop and what effects they have in the system. There were lots of activities to do like make your own solar system and design your own astronaut helmets, as well as different experiments that showed us how and what goes on in space and the solar system. If you completed all the activities you got a prize which was a planet stress ball. What a good time! -Jenny H.
